STAR Week 4

Welcome one more week to our blog!

This is the first time I take the role of star and I couldn't be happier!

At the beginning I was a little scared but it ended up being a great experience that made me see that I was really in the place where I should be, studying what I had to study... And putting myself in the role of teacher has been a challenge that thanks to my partner Darío has been much easier.

I am going to tell you what we did in that session as teachers:

- First of all, we explained what the Mar Menor was, we talked a bit about its history and its current situation. For this we used a very visual presentation

- Secondly, we handed out a summary of everything we had said with the most significant data and explained the first activity, which consisted in elaborating a story map showing the history of the Mar Menor in a schematic way. To do it, we used the application "Canva". The students accessed it through an email and a password that we provided them with. With this task we worked on cultural competence.

- In the second activity we worked on mathematical, scientific and technological competence with an application called "wolfram widgets". We provided our children with problems based on measurement changes that they solved with enthusiasm. Working on task 2

- The third activity was one of the easiest to perform. The students had to write ideas on what to do to change the current situation of the Mar Menor on a shared whiteboard. The website chosen for this activity was "Draw Chat". The competence worked on was social and civic because we helped students to have a conversation and discuss about the needs of the Mar Menor.

- Finally, we compiled all the activities in a video. For this, the students used "iMovie" (digital competence).

It was quite a challenge for us to do this task, but with effort and enthusiasm everything went smoothly.
